Since its discovery, CRISPR has altered the course of molecular biology research and is starting to do the same for disease treatment. Along the way, the “toolbox” associated with the gene-editing technique continues to grow. Moreover, the tools—which include transposases, retrons, integrases, etc.—are increasing in number and have improvements that allow for more efficient editing. And, more sophisticated editing, and fewer off-target effects, are key components of genome editing for disease treatment.
In this GEN Live event, we are excited to be joined by two distinguished experts—Dr. Sam Sternberg and Dr. Rodolphe Barrangou—who have helped pioneer the field of gene editing and will explain what these tools mean for the future.
