GeneDx announced major enhancements to its whole genome sequencing offering. The new features include faster turnaround time for rapid whole genome sequencing, buccal samples, and repeat expansions. GeneDx asserts that it has sequenced more than 665,000 clinical exomes and genomes, resulting in one of the largest, most sophisticated, and most diverse genomic datasets. The company adds that the combination of its dataset and product enhancements will improve the accessibility and effectiveness of whole genome sequencing for diagnostic purposes, contributing to efforts meant to stop or reduce the progression of common and rare diseases.
