The scientist with the most innovative research proposal will receive a Guava solution.
Millipore and Guava Technologies reported that they will jointly award a Guava® flow cytometer instrument valued at over $100,000 to a scientist whose innovative research proposal will advance the understanding of cell biology.
“This award will enable research into such critical areas of cell biology as stem cell differentiation, cell signaling, mechanism of action of a particular therapeutic agent, and insight into the molecular basis of a specific pathology,” says Geoffrey Crouse, vp, Millipore Life Science.
Applications can be accessed from both the Millipore and Guava Technologies websites from January 1 until April 30, 2009. The applications will be reviewed by a panel of scientists from both companies and five finalists will be selected. After an in-depth discussion of each finalists’ proposal is conducted, a winner will be chosen in May. The award is open to all research labs worldwide.
Earlier this year, Millipore and Guava Technologies entered into a long-term partnership to deliver optimized benchtop flow cytometry products and services to the academic, government, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical markets. Since the partnership was announced, the companies report that they have launched 17 kits for stem cell characterization and chemokine receptor quantification and are jointly developing a next-generation flow cytometry instrument.
