If your biology fundamentals need a refresher or if you’re looking for a convenient companion app for your students, look no further than Codon One. The app collects in-depth reviews of core concepts and puts them together in one easy-to-use app. The app contains four overarching modules: chemistry of life, genetics, evolution, and science history. Each module contains multiple sections that are each dedicated to a more specific topic. For example, the chemistry of life module is divided into sections such as chemical bonds, functional groups, carbohydrates, and lipids. Each section provides an in-depth review of its topic and includes images. At the end of each section, users must complete a few questions that test their knowledge before they can unlock the next section. Access to additional modules requires an in-app purchase, although all modules can be bought for only $1.99. Codon One is a great tool for reviewing basic concepts across multiple fields of biology.
