Summary:
PRIDE (PRoteomics IDEntification database) is a project at the EMBL-Ebi that provides a common data-exchange format and repository supporting proteomics literature publications. It supports identification via both LC-MS and gel analyses. Post-translational modifications too are considered and collected. Access to the information is free and does not require log-in. Information retrieved can be downloaded or viewed in a Web browser. Searches may be performed by accession number, author/title, or experimental accession number. The interface is simple, though perhaps a bit sparse. Also, the designers could have built in a bit more description of how to search the database and what is available. As it is, the site appears to be aimed at the cognoscenti.
