Brainapse offers a fascinating insight into the brain right from your phone. The app displays the brain in augmented reality and takes users on a tour from the outside of the skull down to the neuronal level, displaying information about each section as it goes. In addition to the tour of the human brain, the app also allows users to take a journey through evolution by examining the brain and skulls of our early ancestors, from Australopithecus up through to modern day Homo sapiens. There is also a physiology component of the app, where users can see how electrical and chemical messages get transmitted between neurons. Additionally, the app includes a game where users can search around their environment using augmented reality to collect parts of the brain and assign them to their correct location. Brainapse is a hugely fun app that is also a great way to learn more about the human brain.
