Summary:

In case you are unfamiliar with the card game euchre after which this app is named, do not let the title make you pass over this app. I assure you, if you are a student of biochemistry (or any scientist looking for a way to brush up on their amino acid and nucleotide structures), this app is a great tool. Like euchre, this app includes 24 “cards” in its flashcard section, each displaying one of the 20 amino acids or 4 DNA nucleotides. Each card displays the full name, abbreviation (both three-letter and one-letter for amino acids) and structure. The quizzes section of the app includes four testing options: names, abbreviations (three-letter and one-letter), and class (such as “purine” for the nucleotides and “polar uncharged” for the amino acids). Great in its simplicity with colorful and informative flashcards at its center, this app is going to make the lives of many a biochemistry student much easier come exam time.
