Strong Points: Magazine, newsletter, and blog access
Weak Points: High-resolution magazine pdfs cost money

Summary:

It is highly improbable that someone can visit the website for Improbable Research and not be amused. Showcasing “research that makes people laugh and then think,” this organization is perhaps most well known for its annual IgNobel Prize ceremony. (Perhaps you have heard of some of the recent winners like Dr. Elena Bodnar, the inventor of the bra-turned-gas mask.) Even if you are unable to attend the IgNobel ceremony, the Improbable Research website keeps the ridiculous science coming all year round. On this site you can access the organization’s magazine (low resolution pdfs are freely available—if you want high resolution, if costs a small fee), as well as its monthly email newsletter and regularly updated blog. I really cannot do the research topics justice in this small blurb, so I must simply say that if you want a good laugh (and the requisite thinking afterwards), visit this site!
