Rating:
Strong Points: Great organization, cleanly designed site
Weak Points: Nothing major

Summary:

For healthcare professionals and researchers studying human genetics, the GeneTests website is an exceptional online resource. The (apparently newly designed) site has a nice aesthetic and provides a clear organization, with seven navigation options at the top of the page. These categories are (in addition to the homepage): disorders, GeneReviews, genes, panel directory, laboratory directory, and clinic directory. The laboratory and clinic directories provide site visitors with the names of international laboratories and genetics clinics that provide genetic testing or genetics diagnoses/counseling services, respectively. As for the other pages of the site, the “GeneReviews” tab links visitors to the University of Washington-maintained GeneReview chapters for specific genetic disorders, while the “disorders” section of the site allows users to browse the available genetic tests and OMIM entries for different disorders.
