Cognitive scientists report that although GMO crops have made positive contributions to sustainable agriculture, hostility to GMOs remains high because the human mind is susceptible to negative and emotional representations put out by some environmental groups and other GMO opponents. The researchers say the general public should form opinions about GMOs based on the resulting product and not the technology.
