PerkinElmer Continues OneSource Service Contract with Minerva

  • PerkinElmer extended its OneSource Laboratory Services contract with Minerva Scientific, a pharmaceutical testing laboratory based in Derbyshire, U.K. OneSource Laboratory Services aims to facilitate faster and higher sample throughput through multivendor instrument repair, maintenance, and qualification.

Minerva Scientific deploys a range of analytical instrumentation from ubiquitous liquid chromatography (LC), gas chromatography, and infrared systems to more specialized LC/MS and LC/MS/MS. The firm provides pharmaceutical product-release testing, quality assurance (QA), stability testing, and analytical method development. “Recognizing that the servicing of MS systems requires specialist skills, we rely on OneSource from PerkinElmer for this capability,” remarks Ian Brown, technical director, Minerva Scientific U.K. “They provide breakdown cover for our high-demand MS systems, maximizing laboratory productivity.”

PerkinElmer has capabilities in providing complete asset management and maintenance solutions for a range of technologies including mass spectrometry systems, optimizing instrument uptime while maintaining data quality and integrity. “Standard instrumentation as well as highly specialized MS systems are covered by OneSource Laboratory Services, and this has allowed Minerva Scientific to control costs and improve productivity through consolidation of equipment maintenance and qualification through one supplier,” comments Hansueli Goeldi, European service leader, PerkinElmer.

PerkinElmer OneSource’s laboratory services include corrective and preventative maintenance, qualification, calibration, relocation, and asset disposition. Encompassing various major equipment manufacturers and technologies, OneSource looks after 400,000 analytical and life science laboratory assets in over 120 countries worldwide, according to PerkinElmer.
