Summary:

Aimed at middle school and high school students, the Want to Be a Bioengineer? app from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering shows off some of the cool applications of bioengineering through a question-and-answer game. App users proceed through three rounds of questions, each related to a different topic: rehabilitation engineering, regenerative medicine, and biomedical imaging. The app itself is somewhat cumbersome to navigate, as the graphics are slow and users have to progress through the game in order from the very beginning. While I’m not sure how much fun the “kids these days” will find the game aspect of this app, the app itself does include enough interesting anecdotes from bioengineering research to make it worthwhile to go through at least once.
