Summary:

If you’re looking for some good ol’ fashioned, hand-held histology, then this is the app for you. Delivering exactly what it promises, users are presented with a sizable list of entries that include things like “human aorta”, “mouse cochlea”, and “guinea pig kidney.” As you can tell, this atlas is not limited to humans (or any single species, for that matter). This comes as a trade-off, though, as in its diversity it fails to provide users with a comprehensive atlas for any species. And yet, in the world of phone apps, comprehensiveness is not really the name of the game. So in that regard, this app is entirely appropriate as a compact reference or just general tool for the curious out there. Want to know what a human lip looks like on a histology slide? You’ve come to the right place.
