With the ever-present temptation to use Wikipedia as the go-to online reference, it is always nice to find comprehensive, informative websites that are written by a credible, non-anonymous source. In this case, that source is Dr. Michael King of the Indiana University School of Medicine. His website, The Medical Biochemistry Page, contains a great deal of information regarding biochemistry basics, from the basic chemistry of amino acids, to metabolic disorders, to steroid hormones and receptors. There are 62 topics in total, and each topic is given a thorough introduction. The website itself suffers from too many advertisements that at first glance appear to be legitimate links themselves. But that minor gripe aside, the actual content of the site is more than enough to compensate for this eyesore. So finally, biochemistry students everywhere can rejoice in not having to “Wikipedia that.”
