Rating:
Strong Points: Good organization, simple and clean site design
Weak Points: No content other than labeled diagrams

Summary:

I must admit, I was quite amused when I noticed that the URL for “The Anatomy of the Laboratory Mouse” website contains the word “cookbook.” Alas (and, thankfully), the site has nothing to do with mouse cuisine—it is instead the web adaptation of the mouse anatomy book written by Margaret J. Cook. In website form, the book’s contents are nicely organized into externals, skeleton, viscera, and circulatory system, although one may also choose to browse the site via the subject or image indices. The illustrations are simple and clear, and although there are no actual photographs of a mouse, the hand drawings provide a great introduction to researchers wanting to brush up a bit on their mouse anatomy. (As for all you chefs out there, you won’t find anything palatable in this “cookbook.”)
