Rating:
Strong Points: Image quality
Weak Points: Images too small

Summary:
Nikon is a visual-related company known for their superb lenses, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that their website on microscopy is loaded with beautiful microscopic images. At this site, Nikon sponsors the International Small World competition, which provides a showcase for the leading photomicrographers of the world. Most of the site is aimed at showing visitors various aspects of the contest including the rules, prizes, entry form, and general info. The section most visitors will be interested in (I think) is the gallery of prize-winning images, dating back to 1977. The images are incredibly beautiful and artistic, but I have one small quibble—they really could be larger. I think this could be accomplished without giving up too much of the image that would encourage illegal use/copying. Nonetheless, these images are worth a look for everyone. It appears here that it really is a small world, after all.
