International Aging Research Portfolio (IARP)

www.agingportfolio.org
  • Nice design, many ways to explore site
  • Nothing significant

I never grow tired of exploring fantastically designed websites, and with the International Aging Research Portfolio I was not disappointed. The IARP is an independent nonprofit initiative that brings together resources for the many parties involved in aging research including charities, academic and corporate researchers, and patient advocacy groups. Besides simply having a beautifully manicured website, the IARP provides a large amount of information related to the funding of aging research. This information is perhaps most easily browsed via the “Search Projects” field on the homepage, wherein 102 (yes, that’s right!) different topics are indexed to allow users to literally search anything from A–Z (or rather, from “accumulative-waste theory” to “zinc metabolism”). Alternatively, visitors to the site can explore sections such as funding organizations and sources, commercial applications and companies, and biotechnology video casts and training. No matter how you decide to browse the site, you will find plenty of useful information.
